A little holiday grace

A little holiday grace

I woke up this morning, realized it was Friday and that I hadn’t written this week’s blog. This has only happened a couple times in the eight years (!!!) I’ve been writing my weekly Inchstones. For a moment I thought about scrambling to write a full post and then remembered that Miguel has a gig out of town and I’m solo parenting. There was no way I could do that and get the kids to school on time.

To be clear, no on makes me write these. Still, when I miss a week the guilt creeps in because I know my loyal readers look forward to their Friday morning Kelly boost and I appreciate you all so much! This week though, I’m granting myself some holiday grace because life is life-ing but with jingle bells and Santa hats and it’s a lot and also kind of chaotically wonderful and that’s ok.

I’ll be back next week with one last post for the year (good riddance 2025). In the meantime, should you be a person who needs it, I am granting you permission to give yourself some holiday grace. And if something falls through the cracks during this crazy holiday season - it’s going to be ok. Life will go on, I promise.

It always does.
